Malus domestica 'Kidd's Orange Red' is a hardy tree that is well suited to the colder northern regions. It does best in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. The fruit is distinctive with an aromatic sugary flavour with a hint of honey. The flesh is white and crisp, making it ideal to use in cooking, desserts and salads.

In April and May, your Apple Kidd's Orange Red bursts with a lovely display of white flowers which precede the fruits. Malus domestica 'Kidd's Orange Red' is ideal for home gardens and produces a heavy crop of fruit ready for harvesting in early October. To guarantee cross pollination plant in a sunny, open site with another tree from the same or adjacent flowering group. The 'Granny Smith’ makes a perfect partner.

We offer the Apple Kidd's Orange Red tree as a rootstock MM106, semi-dwarfing, which is tolerant of a range of soils including grassed orchards and poor soils. This is the most widely used rootstock. Plant with a spacing of 4.5m between the rows for best results. When left unpruned it will reach heights of 4-5m in a 10 year period.

Nothing is more rewarding than having fruit-bearing trees in your garden. Start your mini orchard with a wonderful Malus domestica 'Kidd's Orange Red'.
