• Characteristics: A woody, easy to care for perennial herb growing edible, gray-green leaves with a zesty camphor-lemon aroma and summer blossoms in yellow-white.
• Growth and spread: Can reach an ultimate height of 0.5-1.m and an ultimate spread of 0.5-1m.
• Period of interest: Semi-evergreen foliage remains for most of the year, whilst flowers bloom in late summer.
• Care and maintenance: Plant in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade.

Southernwood is a woody, perennial, fern-like garden herb with highly aromatic, grey-green foliage. It has a strong, citrus-camphor fragrance when brushed or crushed and it can add an exquisite sharpness to sauces and vinegars. It also adds a delicious flavour to m eat and poultry, although it should be used sparingly to avoid overpowering the other flavours.

Plant Southernwood in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. It is excellent for growing in herb gardens, bedding and borders to add some textured foliage.

Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
