Characteristics: Compact, spreading deciduous perennial shrub with dense clumps of lobed, mid-green leaves and stems carrying lavender-blue flowers in Summer.
Growth & Spread: Ultimate height of 0.1 – 0.5m and spread of 0.5 – 1m.
Period of Interest: Summer and Autumn interest. An abundance of lavender-blue flowers with rounded petals appearing throughout Summer. Foliage shifts to hues of red and yellow in Autumn.
Water & Maintenance: Plant in medium moisture, fertile, well-drained soil. Keep in full or partial sun. Drought tolerant once established. Low maintenance and hardy.
A hardy and resilient plant with a low growing, spreading habit. The Geranium ‘Johnson’s Blue’ is a great option for woodland displays or as groundcover at the base of trees or borders with its dense, clumping foliage of lobed or cut mid-green leaves. slender stems appear above the foliage carrying free flowering panicles of violet-blue flowers with soft, rounded petals which appear throughout the Summer and are highly attractive to pollinators. The foliage gains hues of red and gold in the Autumn months.
Plant in moderately moist, well-drained, humus-rich, well-drained soil and keep in full or partial sun. Drought tolerant once established and very easy to grow in most soil types.
