Euphorbia can be annuals, perennials, shrubs or succulents, with milky sap and small flowers held within cupped, often colourful bracts. 'Ascot Rainbow' is an evergreen perennial with whorls of grey-green lance-shaped leaves edged in yellow. In the cooler months, the foliage becomes flushed with shades of red, pink, and orange. From early spring it bears clusters of lime-green flowers.
