Product Description
GardenersDream Vegetable Grow Bags are perfect for growing your own root vegetables, or even any above soil fruit, vegetables or plants. The bag is designed with a window flap at the front of the bag, to inspect plants growth and progress or to harvest vegetables without digging into the soil.
Fabric pots produce a much healthier root system than the classic plastic pot, due to their breathability. The air exposure starts a process called 'air pruning' which creates a stronger root system and prevents root circling. Additionally, the grow bag provides excellent drainage, which prevents the common problem of over-watering.
Our grow bags are simple to use, eco-friendly and can be folded and stored, when not in use. The planter can be used anywhere, indoors or outdoors, as an alternative to the traditional plant pots or container; Simply, fill the bag with soil and add the seeds, seedlings or plants. After the growing season has ended, the container can be emptied, washed and stored away.

Characteristics: Second early variety with firm, smooth, light yellow flesh and a higher drought tolerance. A reliable cropper and well suited for baking or mashing.
Growing Period: Usually planted from mid-March to April depending on weather. Second early varieties mature in around 4 – 5 months from planting to be harvested in Summer around August.
Planting Instructions: Chitting before planting is advised until sprout is about 3cm long. Plant in potato bags or in the ground. Draw soil over or cover the stems and tubers to avoid frost and light damage and help development.
Care & maintenance: Plant in a sunny position in fertile soil and water regularly. Susceptible to frost damage so protection is advised via organic mulching and trenching. Good disease resistance but beware of blight damage.
A versatile species of late second early variety that could almost be considered a maincrop. The ‘Estima’ variety is most popular when used for baking due to its smooth flesh and texture. It is more drought tolerant than most other types and produces a reliable yield of fewer but larger tubers. A great option for mashing due to its more subtle flavour.
Seed potatoes are generally chitted before planting. Anywhere between 2 – 6 weeks before planting is generally the timeframe. Keep the rounded, blunt end of the seed potato facing upwards and under full sun. once the shoots are around 3cm long (1 inch) they can then be moved into their final position in the ground or in potato bags.
Plant in a position with full sun and moist, fertile soil. Susceptible to frost damage so some organic mulch is advised. Mound the soil around the tubers and stems or cover them with a layer of black polythene as they grow to keep them healthy and protected from frost. Water regularly.
