Characteristics: Herbaceous perennial shrub with incised, dark green foliage beneath tall stems bearing bi-coloured pink and white flower petals surrounding a central cone in a parasol shape.
Growth & Spread: Ultimate height of 0.5 – 1m and spread of 0.1 – 0.5m.
Period of Interest: Summer and Autumn interest. Medium to large bi-coloured flowers with a rounded centre cone and reflexed pink and white petals with a long flowering period.
Water & Maintenance: Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Keep in full or partial sun. Grows well in most soil types and conditions. Avoid excessively wet or boggy soils.
A smaller herbaceous perennial with interesting flowers with a long blooming period and a hardy, low maintenance disposition. The Echinacea ‘Pretty Parasols’, more commonly known as Coneflower, is a lovely shrub with clumping, incised dark green foliage beneath tall, strong stems which can carry multiple bi-coloured flowers with narrow pink and white petals emerging from a central rounded cone. The petals of the bloom recurve or droop to give the shape of parasols and appear throughout the Summer and into Autumn.
Plant in moist, well-drained soils and keep in full or partial sun. Thrives in most soils and is quite resilient against wet and windy conditions. Avoid planting in waterlogged areas.
