Characteristics: Digitalis Lucas Pink plants are foxglove plants with green foliage growing on tall, erect stems and tall spikes of pinkish purple flowers with white throats throughout summer.
Growth and spread: These foxgloves can reach an ultimate height of around 0.8m and an ultimate spread of approximately 0.4m.
Care and maintenance: These outdoor plants will grow well in most soil types, as long as it is not too wet or too dry. Plant in full sun or partial shade. Ideal for growing in containers or as bedding plants.
Period of interest: Foliage is deciduous to semi-evergreen, and so may remain all year in some areas, whilst flowers bloom throughout summer and can continue until autumn.
Digitalis Lucas Pink, also commonly known as Foxglove Lucas Pink, are beautiful perennial plants with green foliage growing on tall, upright stems, accompanied in the summer months by tall spikes of flowers blooming in plentiful amounts. These flowers are vibrant pinkish purple in colour, with white throats spotted with pink.
Plant Foxglove Lucas Pink in moist-well drained soil in full sun or partial shade. It will tolerate most soil types well as long as it is not waterlogged or too dry. These garden plants would look fabulous in a garden border or bed to add a pop of vivid colour, but the compact size also makes these perfect patio plants for planting in plant pots and containers.
