  • Characteristics: Dense, bushy evergreen shrub with wavy-edged, wrinkled dark green leaves and loose panicles of pure white flowers with yellows centres which bloom from Summer.
  • Growth & Spread: Ultimate height of 0.5 – 1m and spread of 1 – 1.5m.
  • Period of Interest: Year-round foliage interest. Masses of dark red buds which bloom into pure white flowers with yellow centres from early Summer.
  • Water & Maintenance: Plant in well-drained, sandy soils. Keep in full sun in a sheltered position. Drought resistant once established and will not be affected by poorer quality soils.

A bushy, evergreen shrub with dense structure and free flowering blooms throughout the Summer months, the Cistus corbariensis or Rock Rose is a more compact shrub carrying dark green leaves with wavy-edges and a wrinkled or deeply textured look and feel. The flowers appear as deep red buds near the start of Summer before blooming into beautiful, pure white, 5-petalled flowers during the rest of the Season and create great contrast with the darker foliage beneath.

Can be planted in almost any well-drained soil including poorer quality soils. Keep in full sun in a sheltered position. Drought tolerant once established.
