Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
Characteristics: It is a medium growing varietal of the Camellia family.
Growth & Spread: Fast-growing. Can grow between 2.5 and 4.0 m in height and a 1.0 to 3.0 m spread.
Flourishing Season: Each bloom has a creamy yellow centre surround by whiter outer petals, up to 12 cm in diameter in early to mid-Spring.
Water & Maintenance: During the first few years it will need regular watering, but after becoming established, needs little care. Enjoys a moist, but well-drained soil with a pH of 7.0 or lower into the acid range.
The “Jury’s Yellow” is an evergreen shrub which has thick, glossy-green leaves and produces beautiful anemone-shaped flowers with gently creamy yellows in the centre bunch of petals with slightly off-white petals along the exterior. The elongated, green foliage is prevalent throughout the year.
The plant can be used in areas for accents in borders and along house walls. They prefer shadier areas and tolerate colder temperatures around -10⁰ to -15⁰ C. Although, it is advisable to plant them in sheltered areas.
These hardy plants grow into large-sized shrubs with significant amounts of blooms throughout the plant.
Make sure to keep a watchful eye for any of the pests like aphids, scale insects and vine weevils.
Overall, it is a hardy plant which will continue to provide beauty for years to come. If needed, it is important to carefully prune immediately after the flowering season. For the planting location, it is important to avoid areas which will expose it to early morning sun during the blooming and frost season. The combination of frost and sun can spoil the flowers.
