Camellia Onetia Holland is a vigorous and upright growing, compact evergreen shrub with large rose shaped white flowers that bloom in late winters. When the buds from other shrubs in winters will lay dormant and lifeless, Camellia will add a pinch of life into your garden.
Their mid-green glossy leaves add a beautiful dark contrast to the bright flowers and to their prominent yellow stamens. These flowers bloom in late winter month of Jan - Feb, bringing an early blossom to the gardens. Camellia Onetia Holland are ideally planted along wall-side borders or patio and are also suitable for container pots.
Their prolific white petals will thrive in filtered shade at a sheltered spot away from cold winds. They prefer to grow in acidic fertile soil that is well-drained. Camellia plants develop strong tolerance to overnight temperatures.
Add mulch to the base of the plant made of composted bark mixture for the roots to retain moisture.
Pruning Camellia is not necessarily required, but make sure to protect them from early sun as the late frost may damage the flowers.
Camellia plants are native to Japan. They bloom royal white flowers that will make your cottage garden look grand and majestic.
