Plant advice: To protect the fresh, emerging buds and the foliage, make sure to shelter them from early morning sun and dry, cold winds (i.e. along fence or wall). Trim the branches after flowering to maintain the desired appearance of the plant, and remove any bent, broken, diseased or otherwise unwanted ones.
Your Camellia will thrive in a space that benefits from partial shade - make sure that it is not east-facing! We recommend that you use soil that is well-drained and moist, leaning towards a type that is acidic and loamy/clay.
The ‘Bonomiana’ Camellia variety is a low maintenance, evergreen shrub that will be a great addition to a border in partial shade, or a large patio pot. From mid winter through to spring, you can expect to see an abundance of elegant pink blooms, complimented by the foliage’s luscious green.
It can reach an ultimate height between 2.5 and 4 meters and an ultimate width of between 1.5 and 2.5 meters and takes well to pruning to a size that will best suit your needs. Fantastic choice for a potted patio or courtyard plant.
