Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
Characteristics: A compact, deciduous, hardy shrub with strap like grey-green leaves, bearing masses of large conical, deep purple, nectar-rich flowers that attract butterflies and bees in summer.
Growth & Spread: Can reach an ultimate height of 2m and spread of 1.2m.
Period of Interest: Spring to Autumn foliage interest. Purple flowers July-September.
Water & Maintenance: Water freely when in growth and sparingly otherwise. Prune in early spring and deadhead spent flowers to prolong the season.
Buddleia Davdii Purple Emperor is a stunning hardy, deciduous shrub with a compact, upright habit and grey-green foliage, turning buttery yellow in autumn. It creates a vibrant summer display with its large spikes of bright purple flowers that keep on blooming right through to autumn. This Butterfly Bush is very easy to grow and will thrive in almost any situation but it will attract more butterflies and bees if grown in full sun.
Grow this wonderful shrub in any moist, well drained garden soil, in full sun or semi-shade. Even if the plant does not die to the ground in winter, it often grows more vigorously and produces superior flowers if cut back in early spring each year. Prompt removal of spent flower spikes during the growing season will encourage continued bloom until frost.
