Vaccinium 'Pink Lemonade' is an upright, bushy deciduous shrub that produces large crops of blueberries in late summer. The foliage of this plant boasts glossy, oval-shaped, dark green leaves which turns to shades of orange and then burgundy as the seasons change. Pinkish/white bell-shaped flowers develop and eventually give way to the berries that can be harvested from late-summer onwards. The fairly unique characteristic that sets this variety apart from others in the vaccinium family is that the berries are a deep pink colour when they are fully ripened, hence it's name. These fruits have a lovely mild flavour and can be eaten staight from the tree, they can also be used to make jams and desserts. These plants prefer a sunny or partially shaded spot in the garden, for best results make sure the soil is well drained and slightly acidic. These bushes are self-pollinating but planting in groups will provide a higher yield of fruit.
