Characteristics: Compact variety of herbaceous perennial. Produces a gorgeous mix of pink-white coloured Summer blooms that form in thick clusters of plumes, contrasting well against the green foliage. It is also an attraction for bees.

Period of Interest: Flowers begin to appear in July and August.
Care and Maintenance: Place in an area that is exposed to full sun or partial shade. Plant in moist, well-drained, loamy soil and water when the soil is dry to touch.
Astilbe Short 'n' Sweet Sugarberry is small and compact in size, making it a great addition to herbaceous borders. This herbaceous perennial is clump-forming and dense, bearing upright clusters of pink-white mixed flowerheads when they bloom in July and August. Its flowers sit at the peak of slim, vertical stems, surrounded by small, serrated green leaves that provide a wonderful colour contrast. This variety will also reach an ultimate height and spread of 0.5m.
Commonly known as False Goat's Beard, Astilbe plants are pretty low maintenance. An area of full sun or partial shade is preferred, as well as being planted in moist, well-drained, loamy soil. You should also water the plant when the soil is dry to touch, ensuring it continues to thrive and flourish in any pots, containers, borders, patios or flower beds.
