Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
Characteristics: White star-shaped flowers that bloom in the Spring. Purple-black berries in the Summer. Orange-red leaves in the Autumn.
Flowering: Flowers bloom April-May, produces little fruit in June-July.
Height and Spread: 5m / 3m. Grows to a small tree or large shrub.
Hardiness and Best: Fully hardy. Full sun location or partial shade.
Soil: All well-drained garden soils.
The Amelanchier canadensis more commonly known as October Flame is a small deciduous tree with white 5 petaled star like flowers which bloom in Spring. The Amelanchier canadensis has beautiful ovate foliage which is a healthy green, which transitions to a bright orange-red in the Autumn. It produces small fruits in June-July which are edible but are most commonly enjoyed by the birds, however have been known to be made into jelly.
The Amelanchier canadensis thrives best in boggy, damp conditions where it can grow into a beautiful small tree or a large shrub. Plant this tree in full sun to ensure that you get the best Autumn colours from the leaves.
The Amelanchier canadensis is an incredibly striking tree, with its vivid flamed leaves which makes it near impossible for it not to catch your eye. The Amelanchier canadensis only requires gently pruning in late Winter or early Spring.
The October Flame is known to attract birds due its edible berries especially in Summer and Autumn. The Amelanchier canadensis is a fine specimen it is an ideal tree for a smaller garden with plenty of seasonal interest. This low maintenance tree could also be used for screening.
