Characteristics: Clump-forming herbaceous perennial shrub with strap-shaped foliage of mid-green with cream striped variegation and lavender-blue flowers from Summer.
Growth & Spread: Ultimate height of 0.5 Ð 1m and spread of 0.1 Ð 0.5m.
Period of Interest: Summer and Autumn interest. Tall stems bearing rounded clusters of nodding, trumpet-shaped, soft lavender-blue flowers from mid-to-late Summer and sometimes into early Autumn.
Water & Maintenance: Plant in moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Keep in full sun in a sheltered position. Container planting is advised in colder regions to be moved under glass during Winter. Mulching and frost protection are advised if kept outdoors.
A bright, summer perennial with interesting foliage and softly coloured flowers. The Agapanthus ÔSilver MoonÕ is a variety of African Lily and clump-forming, herbaceous perennial shrub with mounded foliage consisting of mid-green, strap-like leaves with striped variegation of cream-yellow. Tall, slender stalks appear above the foliage carrying rounded panicles of trumpet-shaped lavender-blue flowers from around mid-Summer. A somewhat compact variety perfect for small flower beds or container planting.
Plant in moist, fertile, well-drained soils and keep in full sun in a sheltered position. Can be planted outside in temperate regions but container planting is advised to avoid harsh Winter by moving under glass. Mulching and other forms of frost protection are recommended if planting outdoors.
