Characteristics: Compact, herbaceous perennial shrub with long, flat, gold-edged light green foliage and stems bearing small light blue flowers.
Growth & Spread: Ultimate height of 0.5 – 1m and spread of 0.2 – 0.5m.
Period of Interest: Year-round interest. Strap-like green foliage edged with golden-yellow all year and small pale blue flowers from Spring into the Summer.
Water & Maintenance: Plant in moist, well-drained soil and keep in full sun. Quite hardy but may die back during harsh Winters. May require some frost protection.
A bright and colourful addition to the garden, the Agapanthus ‘Golden Drop’ is a variety of African Lily with some great foliage colour that lasts all years. The long, narrow strap-like leaves are edged with golden-yellow margins and sit beneath long stems which carry the small, pale to light blue flowers which appear in the Spring and Summer months. A great choice for compact groundcover.
Plant in any moist, well-drained soil and keep in full sun. During the Winter it is best kept in a sheltered location and protected from frosts. May suffer some leaf damage and dieback during harsher Winters but will return the following Spring.
