Characteristics: Compact, clump-forming herbaceous perennial shrub with strap-like mid-green foliage and rounded clusters of deep blue flowers in Summer.
Growth & Spread: Ultimate height and spread of 0.1 Ð 0.5m.
Period of Interest: Summer and Autumn interest. Panicles of nodding, trumpet-shaped, rich blue flowers in mid-Summer to early Autumn.
Water & Maintenance: Plant in moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Keep in full sun in a sheltered position. Mulching and Winter frost protection are advised. Container planting allows movement under glass in harsh weather.
Compact perennial with intense flower colour, the Agapanthus ÔFlower of LoveÕ is a smaller variety of the popular African Lily plant with mounded, clump-forming foliage consisting of strap-like, mid-green leaves which sit beneath short stems carrying rounded clusters of vibrant blue trumpet-shaped flowers which bloom around mid-Summer and can last until the early Autumn. A great option for container planting or as part of small flower beds.
Plant in moist, fertile, well-drained soils and keep in full sun in a sheltered position. Can be planted outside in temperate regions but container planting is advised to avoid harsh Winter by moving under glass. Mulching and other forms of frost protection are also advised.
