• Characteristics: Herbaceous perennial, deciduous, blue flowers, summer flowering, clump forming, pollen rich
• Care and Maintenance: Agapanthus Charlotte prefers a sheltered sunny spot in moist but well drained soil. If placed in an exposed area, provide mulch cover over the winter or grow in a container to move inside in autumn. Remaining leaves should be removed in late autumn but seed heads can be left until the first frost. Divide in spring every three or four years for effective propagation.

Agapanthus Charlotte is a deciduous perennial commonly known as African Lily. With its strap shaped green leaves and striking blue star shaped flowers, this is a versatile plant that works equally well in flower beds and containers. 

Flowers bloom in mid to late summer appearing in clusters of vivid blue. As the flowers begin to fade, seed heads appear. These can be left to provide interest over the cooler months until they blacken with the first frost.

With a maximum height and spread of 0.5m, Agapanthus Charlotte is ideal for flower beds, borders and containers. The plant will reach is full maturity and growth within around 2-5 years. It is relatively hardy and the foliage mound retains its appeal even when not in bloom.
