Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
Characteristics: An evergreen shrub of an erect habit with vibrant yellow green leaves with sometimes medium-green centres.
Growth & Spread: A medium rate grower. Depending on use, this shrub can grow from 1.0 to 4.0 m in height and a 1.5 to 3 m spread. Can be planted closer for a denser hedge.
Flourishing Season: Around July, soft-white flowers form, followed by small, shiny black berries.
Water & Maintenance: Water until well-established, relatively drought-resistant. Responds to pruning by increasing in density and is relatively low maintenance.
“Aureum” is an evergreen shrub with an erect growing habit. It has delightful leaves which can have various colourations. Common foliage has medium green interiors, surrounded by a light-green margin. Some leaves present as wholly light yellow-green, although this can change in more mature plants with older leaves.
Be aware that although the leaves are generally small, during transplanting the plant may lose its foliage as it adjusts to its new environment.
On panicles, small white flowers sprout during the main flowering season in mid-summer for this hedge. Later the flowers are followed by shiny, pea-sized berries.
In partial shade or in sun, these plants grow well. In addition, they are adaptable to most soil and air conditions. As such, these plants are valued for their ability to thrive in urban environments where air quality might be a concern.
Excellent plants for hedge rows due to their density and adaptability. They are hardy plants and tolerate temperatures down to -15⁰ C and more if sheltered from cold, dry winter winds.
