Characteristics: Clump-forming, upright deciduous perennial shrub with grey-green foliage and tall stems bearing flowers with vibrant hues of red, yellow and orange.
Growth & Spread: Ultimate height of 0.5 – 1m and spread of 0.1 – 0.5m.
Period of Interest: Summer and Autumn interest. Tall, stiff stems bearing daisy-like flowers with large, rounded brown centres and petals of fiery reds, yellows and oranges from Summer through to Autumn.
Water & Maintenance: Plant in fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Keep in full sun in sheltered or exposed positions. Water regularly for best flowering.
A hardy, deciduous perennial shrub with clumping foliage and upright stems with bright, colourful flowers. The Helenium ‘Mardi Gras’, sometimes known as sneezeweed, is plant with lanceolate, grey-green foliage beneath tall, rigid stems carrying daisy-like flowers with large, rounded central cones surrounded by striking petals of flaming red, yellow and orange hues with a long flowering period lasting throughout the Summer months and into the Autumn.
A hardy and resilient cultivar. Plant in fertile, consistently moist, well-drained soil and keep in full sun. Soil moist should be maintained as this plant dislike dry soils and flowering will be affected.
