A breed of the ever-popular escallonia, the ‘Donard Seedling’ is a lovely variety and a great addition to any garden with its rich green, leathery, glossy evergreen leaves and loose panicles of small, pink-flushed white flowers, appearing as deep pink buds in the early Summer and last all through until the beginnings of Autumn.
Plant in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil. Keep in full sun in a sheltered position to protect from cold, drying winds. Drought tolerant once established and suitable for coastal regions.

How to Plant
Plant Escallonia in well-drained, slightly acidic soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball, place the plant, and backfill with soil. Water well after planting.
