Product description
Elaeagnus 'Compacta' is a fast-growing evergreen shrub bearing glossy, dark green leaves with a sliver sheen to their underside. Tiny, fragrant cream-white flowers can sometimes appear in the Autumn above the foliage. This Elaeagnus is suitable for exposed coastal areas and works well as informal hedging or screening. It is compact as the name suggests when compared to others of the same breed, making it easier to maintain and manage.
Plant in fertile, well-drained soil. This plant can tolerate partial sun but prefers to be kept in full sun. Hardy and drought resistant.

Top Tip
Prune Elaeagnus plants annually to maintain shape and encourage dense growth, especially if used as a hedge or screen.
How to Water
Water regularly during the first year to help establish roots, keeping the soil slightly moist but not waterlogged. Once established, Elaeagnus is drought-tolerant and requires minimal watering.
How to Plant
Plant Elaeagnus in well-drained soil in a sunny or partially shaded location. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball, set the plant in, and backfill with soil. Firm the soil gently and water thoroughly. Space multiple plants 90-150cm apart for proper growth.
