Characteristics: Culinary herb, trained into standard ‘lollipop’ shape, bushy shrub, small aromatic leaves, white/pink flowers in Summer, hardy and robust, easy care, suitable for indoor and outdoor growing.
Growth & Spread: Maximum spread and height of 50cm.
Care and Maintenance: Your Thyme will thrive in a sunny spot, in well-drained soil composed of Chalk, Loam or Sand. Trim back the plant after flowering to promote new growth – if this isn’t done, the plant will become woody and yield less leaves.
Period of Interest: Evergreen year-round foliage. Flowers in early Summer.
Thyme is an evergreen dwarf shrub with small, fragrant leaves. It will fill the air with a pleasant smell, whilst producing small white flowers that attract pollinators in early Summer.
Famous for its use in cooking, Thyme is an essential garnish for a deeply flavoured soup or stew. It is also exceedingly resilient to roasting, allowing the herb to release the full extent of its sharp, rich and earthy flavour.
Fresh or dried, Thyme will pair well with most meats, including pork, chicken, beef and lamb, and is guaranteed to enhance your meals and sauces.
Suitable for growing both indoor and outdoor, situate it on a sunny kitchen windowsill, a warm patio spot or perhaps use it as an aromatic path edging.
