Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
Hardiness and Best: Hardy. Full sun location or partial shade.
Soil: Fertile, moist but well-drained.
The Malus domestica ‘Spartan’ is a late-season refreshing apple that is sweet in flavour. The flavour and maroon skin are a giveaway that the Spartan is in close relation to the famous Canadian McIntosh apple. Spartan is one of the few that have made it across the water from the US to the UK, where it is widely grown.
Apple are one of the easier fruit trees to grow and are increasingly becoming more popular with gardeners. They are medium sized deciduous trees with flashy Spring flowers and ornamental or edible fruit in the Autumn.
Spartan is a strong pollinator for others often producing large quantities of compatible pollen. The Malus domestica ‘Spartan’ is highly recommended by the Royal Horticultural Society to be an incredible attractant and source of nectar for bees and other beneficial insects.
Apple trees benefit from growing in slightly sheltered, sunny area, as the blossom will attract a large variety of pollinators as well as the sun will help ripen the fruit.
MM106 (Semi Dwarfing) are suitable for all forms except standards. The apple trees are tolerant to various soils like grass orchards and poor soils. Widely used rootstock, but not for small gardens. This tree will begin fruiting after three or four years with a ultimate height of between 3-4m.
M26 (Dwarfing) are good for spindlebush, espalier and ideal for containers. Typically starts fruiting after two or three years with an ultimate height of between 2.4-3m.
