January is often a very cold month and when we look out to our gardens we normally see a relatively empty space with little to no activity. Many plants will be in their dormant phase still and normally the only colour is provided by evergreen plant varieties. But, don't think that January is a dead month for gardening as there are many seeds to sow in January including geraniums, dahlias and petunias. January also offers the opportunity to grow edible plants as well and you can sow chillies, aubergines, basil and sweet peas indoors. This means that your new year just got busier as you explore all of the wonderful seeds to sow in January.
