SEASONAL AVAILABILITY: Bare Root plants are supplied from late November until Spring the following year.

CHARACTERISTICS: Prunus Lusitanica Angustifolia Portuguese Laurel are evergreen shrubs with slender, glossy evergreen leaves in shades of vibrant green, growing on reddish purple stems. In spring, small white flowers bloom before making way for small red berries in autumn.

HEIGHT AND SPREAD: Supplied in a dormant state, Prunus Lusitanica Angustifolia Portuguese Laurel can grow to an ultimate height of approximately 5 metres and an ultimate spread of approximately 4 metres.

PLANTING TIPS: Bare-Root hedging is typically planted in a double staggered row of 5 plants per metre. Evergreen plants are generally planted to less density than deciduous plants, such is the nature of their dense foliage.

Prunus Lusitanica Angustifolia Portuguese Laurel plants are garden shrubs which are perfect as bushy hedging or for creating garden screening for privacy. Long and slender leaves are glossy and vibrant green, with small white flowers blooming against the green backdrop throughout the spring, making way for small red berries in autumn.

These garden plants are perfect for hedging thanks to their attractive, dense foliage and hardiness – it will grow well in most soil types, in cold exposed areas and even in shade. They are relatively low maintenance shrubs but can be pruned in spring or autumn to maintain their size and shape.
