• Characteristics: Evergreen foliage. Produces soft, narrow, dark-green fronds in a distinct shuttlecock shape
• Height & Spread: Grows to around 1m tall, spreads to roughly 1m wide.
• Period of Interest: Year-round interest. Densely packed layers of stems carrying soft, cut pinnate feathery foliage.
• Plant Advice: Plant in moist, fertile, cool soils and keep in partial or full shade. Protect plant crowns from excessive Winter wet.

Polystitchum 'Proliferum' is a compact, low growing evergreen fern. Similar to 'Plumosum Densum', this hardy shrub has very fine lace foliage with brownish stalks that produce arching green fronds of small toothed leaflets that overlap, appearing almost like a shuttlecock before maturing into more of a mound shape.

A hardy plant, it prefers to be in partially or fully shaded areas of your garden and are well suited for pots and containers provided they are kept well watered, it will grow best in well-drained soil that is high in nutrients, and a location that allows their fronds to fully extend.
