The Rosa glauca 'Rubrifolia' (Red-leaved Rose), also known as Rosa rubrifolia, is a fast growing deciduous rose hedge that flowers for most of the summer, with slightly thorny deep red stems and contrasting grey-purple, wrinkled foliage. It produces slightly-scented, large yellow-centred, deep pink flowers June to September, followed by large round, red hips in early autumn. A wonderful wildlife hedge, the hips last for a couple of months before being eaten by the birds.
Important Bare Root Care: As soon as you receive your bare root plants place the items upright in a bucket of clean water immediately leaving them for at least 2 hours. Only take plants out as you need them for planting.
Bare root plants must always be planted with wet roots, its not good enough to plant them dry and water them after planting.
Bare root plants should only be planted in good quality, free draining soil to the level they have been grown at nursery. Always make sure they are healed in well and watered immediately after plating and whenever there are 3 or more days of dry weather, in particularly hot periods you may need to water daily during the first year. During bare root season we trade large volumes of stock on a daily basis. In order for your plants to reach you in optimum condition we can only lift a certain number on any given day and while we still estimate our dispatch times to be around 7-10 working days following receipt of your order in some cases this can be longer. In rare cases it can take up to 30 days for your order to arrive, if this is going to be the case we'll let you know as soon as possible about the delay. We always recommed that you order your bare root well in advance.
