Magnolia Susan look extremely beautiful when it blooms flowers on bare stems at the beginning of early spring. Its goblet shaped purple-red flowers are pleasant and fragrant, blooming slightly before the leaves appear. It features green ovate leaves that act as a stunning backdrop for the flowers. In summer, the entire shrub will be covered in flowers and its leaves will turn golden yellow in autumn.

What a majestic colourful display Magnolia Susan will create! It will mature into a small tree as tall as 4 metres. It will thrive in a moist soil that is well-drained, planted in a sheltered spot in full sunlight. Regular watering will ensure the flowers are large, colourful and energetic. Once established, Magnolia shrub will develop tolerance against drought and will be able cope with some neglect.

Pruning Magnolia is not necessary. You can trim stems to maintain its shape and size. It does not prefer other neighbouring roots around it and also dislike repotting too often. Apply a layer of bark mulch to retain moisture and keep the roots cool.

Magnolia Susan can be grown in large containers but they look their best when raised as a single garden specimen. They are suitable for small gardens and cottage gardens. Use them as flowering borders or hedging in groups. Magnolia Susan is sure to add ornamental floral value to your garden.
