It is a grass-like evergreen shrub, forming a turf-like low clump of arching leaves. These leaves are wider and blunt at their tips, like glossy blades, they will shine bright all around the year.
Lilyturf Variegata is a drought tolerant ornamental plant regarded for its versatility. It blooms spikes of tiny violet-purple lily flowers, that grow in long wands abundantly in late summer. When other flowers will start fading, this dwarf shrub will bloom profusely and spread colours around your garden.
Plant Lilyturf Variegata in an average to moist and neutral to acidic soil, in full sunlight or in partial shade. This extremely useful plant will tolerate different conditions and develop tolerance to summer heat.
Cut the leaves back to the ground in winters, or simply shear the plant with a mower blade to encourage new growth. The charming and attractive wands of lily flowers are followed by black berries in autumn.
This plant is considerably allergy free and is an excellent selection as groundcover, edging and in mixed containers. Use them in small groups for accept in rock gardens or woodland gardens.
