Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
Characteristics: Evergreen foliage, small aromatic leaves with abundant white flowers, followed by black berries
Height & Spread: Grows to around 2.5m tall, spreads to roughly 2.5m wide
Period of Interest: Summer and Autumn interest. Loose panicles of fragrant, white flowers in Summer with long stamens which create a fluffy appearance followed by small purple-black berries in Autumn.
Plant Advice: Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Grows best in full sun and keep in a sheltered position. Susceptible to cold dry winds and frost.
Myrtus communis is an attractive medium-sized evergreen shrub with small ovate green leaves that give off a pleasant aroma. In early summer, this bushy upright shrub begins to produce an abundance of small white flowers, the flower heads are around 2cm in width and provide a delightful contrast with the deep green leaves. In Autumn, the flowers are followed by purplish black berries that provide additional colour late in the year.
A hardy variety, it is suited to all soil types so long as it is well-drained, it prefers full sunlight so it is ideal for a nice open space in the garden.
