Picture yourself taking the first bite of a big, juicy, crisp, crimson apple. Now, picture that you have just plucked that fragrant beauty straight from your own garden. Magic. The Malus domestica ‘Lord Lambourne’ more commonly known as the Apple Lord Lambourne Tree, is recommended by experts as they never disappoint in producing a full crop, regularly, almost anywhere in the United Kingdom.
Malus domestica 'Lord Lambourne' has a compact and graceful habit and does best in full sun, fertile and well-drained soil.
White flowers appear in April and May, making this tree a gorgeous sight. The flowers transform into medium sized golden fruits, splashed with shades of red and maroon. The apples from the ‘Lord Lambourne’ are aromatic, juicy and wonderfully sweet. They will go perfectly in a summer fruit salad or can be eaten on its own as a delicious healthy snack. Homegrown with love. The right way.
Apple Lord Lambourne needs to be planted near to another tree in the same or adjacent flowering group. This tree is offered as a rootstock MM106, semi-dwarfing, which is tolerant of a range of soils including grassed orchards and poor soils. This is the most widely used rootstock. Plant with a spacing of 4.5m between the rows for best results. When left unpruned it will reach heights of 4-5m in a 10 year period.
