Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
Characteristics: Gentiana sino-ornata, the 'showy Chinese gentian' is an evergreen perennial that has flowy, grass-like leaves. These leaves are relatively narrow and spread out forming the base of the plant. From these leaves, grow short stalks on which are beautiful blue, trumpet-shaped flowers. In some flowers, white streaks appear through the length of the petal.
Growth & Spread: Ornata plants are moderate growers. This variety can reach heights of up to 20 cm and spreads anywhere from 20 to 50 cm.
Period of Interest: Gentiana should be planted during the Spring season and will flower from mid-Summer through Autumn!
Plant Advice: These plants appreciate sun to partially shaded areas. Though in hotter climates are usually recommended for shelter from the intense afternoon sun. And they are good to divide and transplant in the early part of spring. They do well in lower moisture environments. And as such, can be great for rock gardens or areas filled with gravel.

Gentiana Sino-Ornata is a beautiful semi-evergreen garden plant which displays sky blue flowers! Perfect for growing at the front of a partially shaded borders or displays and makes an excellent cut flower. Some Gentians can be difficult to grow. Fortunately for this particular species, it is both one of the easiest gentians to grow and also one of the most beautiful for its deep-blue blooms.
This plant is also know as the 'Autumn Gentian' or the 'Showy Chinese Gentian'. As they were original discovered by a western botanist at the beginning of the 1900s in northwest Yunan province in China.
