The sheet is designed to be placed directly on the crop and should be installed in as little wind as possible. Start by placing the sheet along the entire length of the plot, parallel to the prevailing wind and cover the edge with soil or sandbags. Cover the edges continuosly along the sides of the plot, taking particular care on the side facing prevailing wind. Ensure the sheet is taut over entire area. Covering the edges will prevent damage being caused by the wind as it will not be able to gust under the sheet, causing it to flap against the crop or exposed plot. As the crop grows, it pushes upwards and puts the fleece under tension. Crop growth and the tension of the fleece should be monitored regularly so that neither the crop growth nor fleece is adversley affected. Relieve excessive fleece tension by carefully lifting and replacing the soil bags used to secure the edges.
