The Prunus insititia ‘Farleigh Damson’ is a late-season plum tree that are often used for wind-breaking or hedging.
Farleigh Damson is a compact, heavy cropping and cooking damson with white flowers that bloom in the Spring. The fruit has the distinct rich damson flavour when cooked. These fruits are not quite sweet enough to eat raw however they do make excellent pies, jams and wines.
Prunus insititia trees have showy flowers in Spring and often good Autumnal foliage. Edible fruit also accommodates the branches in the later Summer early Autumn months.
Damsons are incredibly hardy trees and will thrive anywhere in the UK. Farleigh Damsons are also very resistant towards diseases which usually effect plum trees.
