Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
Flourishing Season: Mid-summer to Early Autumn (June - Oct)
Water & Maintenance: Average water needs, requires light pruning & mulch at base
This 1877 'Gipsy Queen' is a vigorous deciduous climber distinguished with its pinnate leaves. Clematis plants as climbers are unmatched in their rich diversity of flower shapes and colours. This Clematis features velvety violet-purple flowers with 4 to 6 petals that will create just the right memorable floral show in your garden.
Gipsy Queen is usually easy to grow and requires low maintenance. Sometimes referred to as the old Clematis, these late-flowering climbing plants need light sun to dappled shade exposure. They can grow up to a height of 3 metres when planted in moisture retaining well-drained soil.
Clematis Gipsy Queen holds the prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM) for the right reasons. It blooms remarkable medium (5-12 cm) and large (12-20 cm) purple flowers with a hint of red-purple. The young flowers at opening might display intense dark red before turning violet.
This climber plant needs hard pruning in early spring, cut stems down to the lowest healthy buds. Add mulch to its base using small stones, it will keep the roots cool.
Watch for the crispy darkened leaves as Gypsy Queen may suffer from the common Clematis Wilt.
Gypsy Queen is ultimately the best flowering plant when it comes to bright brilliant eye catching violet flowers. Use them to cover trellis, yard fence, plant them near wall sides or train to scramble through shrubs. Bees and butterflies love Gypsy Queen!
