Characteristics: Callistemon laevis is a deciduous shrub with scarlet red flowerspikes that make an impressive display in the Spring and Summer months. The foliage eventually turns dark green with age, but will emerge at first with a pinkish-red tint. Due to the plants deciduous nature, it will lose its leaves later in the year, before returning with fresh new foliage in Spring.
Plant Advice: Callistemons should be planted in moist, well-drained soil and kept in full-to-partial-sun at the best of times. Water it regularly as it establishes in the garden and, after that period, watering it once a week will suffice as it will tolerate periods of drought.

The foliage will, at first, show with a pinkish-red tint, before eventually turning dark green with age.
