Common Name: Painted-Leaf Begonia, Fancy-Leaf Begonia, King Begonia
Characteristics: The Begonia rex Zumba is an indoor plant with very strange and unique foliage. There is a brightly coloured light green base colour of each leaf, which is then joined by some distinct dark green veining. This gives a scale-like look to the plant, which makes it one of the most standout Rex Begonias there is. This member of the Begonia genus is a very effective air-purifier, therefore removing harmful pollutants from the air to create a fresher atmosphere in the room.
Plant Advice: Begonia Rex Zumba should be placed in partial shade. This should be coupled with the avoidance of any direct sunlight as it will cause harmful leaf damage as time goes on. Watering should be carried out when the soil is dry to touch. This can be continued on a once-a-week basis throughout the year, until the Winter dormant period when these levels should drop to once every two weeks.

Rex Begonias, commonly known as King Begonia, are best known for their striking foliage. This Zumba variety is one with a very unique scale-like look to it. Each leaf brings a bright base colour of light green, with a darker shade of green veining completing the robust look of this plant. Rex Begonias are extremely popular plants to house, especially in areas of partial shade where they are allowed to grow and progress well. This opens the door for any home, office, window sill and other indoor spaces as very suitable placement options. It is at this point when the plant can utilise its air-purifying qualities to clean the air and disperse of any harmful pollutants and unwanted toxins. Another point to note in placement is - avoiding any contact with direct sunlight as that will damage the unique leaves of this Rex Begonia. Water the plant once a week, usually when the soil is dry to touch. Wintertime can see this amount lowered to once every two weeks.
