• Plant Advice: It will prefer a partially shaded position in the garden and you should avoid exposing it to long periods of full sun. It can be planted in most soil types, as long as this remains well-drained.

Acer palmatum Butterfly is a deciduous, bushy habited, woody shrub. Its lush, green foliage bears an array of small, red flowers in Spring, before green fruit and orange-red foliage appear in Autumn. Commonly known as Japanese Maple, it will be a stunning addition to your garden and be a very effective small tree, largely because of the eye-catching features it possesses.

This Japanese Maple will prefer being placed in any partially shaded position of your garden. Lengthy periods of full sun will damage the plant, so this should be avoided by offering some regular shelter. This Acer can be planted in most soil types, although they must remain moist and well-drained.
